Failed Fast Day.  I am publically shaming myself with this one- look, look what I just ate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Seriously though, the boss walks in with Zumbarons (butter salted caramel on toast btw) and a Zonut (or cronut, if it’s not from Adriano Zumbo’s- this one was pandan coconut rice pudding flavour!) and I’m supposed to be able to say no!?!?!?  I am not strong enough for that.  I am a weak, weak woman.


Recipes: raw energy balls and Flourless Banana Pancakes

Raw Energy Balls




Made 25 (but depends how large you want to make them!)

  • 1 cup of medjool dates/dried pitted dates (154g)
  • 3/4 cup cashews (83g)
  • 3/4 cup pecans (73g)
  • 2 tablespoons of chia seeds (22g)
  • 2 tablespoons of linseeds (23g)
  • 20g coconut oil, melted
  • 2 tableS desiccated coconut (8g)
  • 2 tablespoon of raw cacao powder (11g)
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • 5g orange zest
  1. Place nuts, coconut, linseed and chia in your food processor and blend until powdery and all nuts chopped up.
  2. Then add the remaining ingredients, pitting the dates before adding those.
  3. Blend till sticky dough forms.  I had to blend mine in a couple of batches because my blender = not so good!
  4. Use your hands to roll the mixture into little balls, place in a bowl and store in the fridge.
  5. I put some in the freezer as well as a healthy frozen treat!

Good for before or after exercise- I plan to have 1 pre and 1 post riding tomorrow!  Not the greatest picture I’m afraid, but that’s just poor photography on my part- they taste like chewy chocolate orange! 🙂



Flourless Banana Pancakes

This was the first time I’d made these, and they were delicious!  Had them post boot-camp style work out and they were so tasty, and full of goodness! 🙂

Makes 4-5 decent sized pancakes, or a lot more smaller ones.

  • 6 eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • dash stevia
  • 2 tableS chia seeds
  • handful pecans
  • dash milk
  • coconut oil, for the cooking
  1. Pop all ingredients in the blender and blend till smooth.
  2. Add milk to get desired consistency.
  3. Mine was quite thick, so next time I will add a bit more milk to thin.
  4. Heat coconut oil till melted and hot
  5. Spoon a ladle of mixture into fry pan and cook as you would a normal pancake.
  6. Flip, cook other side a little, and serve

* Can burn more easily than normal pancakes, so be careful not to have pan up too high, and keep an eye on them!

*  Great served with a dash of maple syrup, as a natural sweetener

Break – 6.15am

  • Oatbran porridge with tableS chia, topped with chopped pecans and dried dates.

AM Snack – 10.45am

  • 1 x slice wholegrain toast topped with ½ an avocado (mashed)

Lunch – 1pm

  • 1 x slice wholegrain toast topped with goats cheese

PM Snack

  • Milo hot choc malt with skim milk
  • small amount of peanuts

Post supermarket/Pre-dinner snack

  • 4 dates
  • Hansells All Natural Wonton Soup = 42c!!!

Dinner 8pm

  • Gumbo with chorizo & sausage
  • 1 x Southern Comfort & Coke Zero
  • small bowl icecream with tableS homemade salted caramel sauce.



2 slices of bread today, probably a bit naughty really, but had avo AND goats cheese that needed eating before it went, and had no vitawheat crackers left, so on toast it is.  The fridge/freezers a bit stocked low at home too since we had to turn it off to defrost it, so we’ve been in process of trying to eat things up which means that there’s not too much choice this last day or so.  But I’m not complaining, my snack was delicious and my lunch will be too! J  But that’s it now, 2 slices should be max of bread per day EVER (sadly it’s not always, but in my head I think it should be the limit), so no toast for me when I get in.


Whoop whoop, we just realised it was someones birthday so we had to get em a birthday cake and I DIDN’T HAVE ANY!  Go me for restraint!  Feels a bit uncharitable not to eat birthday cake, but the guys know that sometimes us girls don’t always want to eat cake, so noone really minds!  Since I had so much cake last weekend I def didn’t want more today, and I stuck to my guns.  Go resistance! 😀


Dang it, all cocky about no cake and then ended up having icecream for dessert, gahhh, what’m I like!?

Break- 6.10am

  • Oatbran porridge with 2 blobs strawberry jam

AM snack 10am

  • Mix dried fruit n nut (dates, dried pineapple, dry roasted peanuts, macadamia nuts, pepita seeds)

Lunch – 12.30pm

  • ½ avo on 2 x Vitawheat lunchslice crackers
  • Some goats cheese on 1 x vitawheat
  • Apple & cinnamon Chobani Greek yogurt pot

EXERCISE:  1 hr Vinyasa yoga, in heated room

Post Yoga snack

  • Mango coconut water
  • Slice bread


  • toast with butter
  • Beef n veggie risotto



Today is one of those days where I feel STARVING and just want to stuff my face with food, even though I just ate a rather large lunch.  It’s odd, because all I want is food, but food won’t actually satisfy me because I will just want/need to eat more.  I hate these days, and don’t understand why I get them.  Does everyone get them?  Is it my body reacting to the Fast Day or to the weightloss in general, trying to make me gain it all back?  Either way, I don’t care, it’s annoying, I just want it to stop!!!  It’s making today feel really hard.


OMG I have been dealing with the most annoying client- had to send an additional quote for a project as there were additional charges and they’re making such a big fuss about it– IT’S $200 AUD JUST PAY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It’s not like we said the extra fee was 2 million ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH- stop harassing me by email backwards and forwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Is probably a good job I am going to yoga cos seriously, I need a stiff drink after dealing with this woman!!

Post yoga:

Oh dear.  Well.  The only thing getting me through the day was that I was going to allow myself a piece of toast as my pre-yoga snack.  Got home, and there was no bread in the house.  Something in me must have snapped, because I ended up having a complete food binge:


  • ½ pack BBQ rice crackers
  • Tablespoon of salted caramel butter icing (we got rid of the cake but still had some of this left over)
  • Tablespoon of chocolate spread
  • A load of banana sweets (those foamy ones, like the shrimps, but banana’s)- the boyf bought them for his post- City to Surf race treat… along with a load of other sweets which are now left in the house for me n my weak-will to scoff.
  • 2 gummy worms
  • A few dry roasted peanuts


I am so ashamed of myself for eating all that crap, and can’t believe I am putting this on here.  Was tempted to pretend this didn’t happen and not write about it, but it did, and I want to be honest.  No weightloss is easy, there’s always bumps in the road, and I stumbled over a big one.  Am surprised I didn’t throw up at yoga to be honest!!!


Then on the way home the boyf had been to the shops, so I ate a slice of bread at the bus stop post yoga, and our microwave died so we had to reheat dinner in the oven which too forever- didn’t eat till 10.30pm- so I had a slice of toast with butter.


I feel like such a blimp!  😦

Breakie 6.15am

  • Oatbran porridge with 2 blobs jam

AM snack

  • H2Coco Pomegranate and Acai Coconut water
  • Pink Lady apple
  • A few macadamia, pepita’s & spicy corn

Lunch- 12.45pm

  • Veggie quiche – 1/8 portion
  • 1 x carrot and a chunk of cucumber
  • Chobani apple and cinnamon Greek yog pot

PM snack

  • Small Tupperware of red grapes
  • A few macadamia, pepita’s & spicy corn


  • Bean, veggie & chorizo veggie “Butter Chicken” curry  – onion, broccoli, celery, mushroom, red pepper, kideney beans, chickpeas, 1 chorizo sausage chopped up small, I x jar Pataks Butter Chicken sauce, I x can chopped tomatoes.  Stir-fried in a dash of olive oil and coconut oil.  No rice for me.

Had to go for an eyetest this evening (new glasses, whoop whoop, so excited!) and then I had do a bit of a food shop afterwards, so I didn’t get home till 8pm, by which time I was a cranky pants since it was late and I was tired, hungry and couldn’t be bothered to chop vegetables!!  V nicely the boyf did the cooking cos otherwise we’d have been having instant noodles!!  So I just sat and ate my grapes and tried to chill out/calm down.  Once food was on the table I felt much better!  🙂
